UB.com
UB.com was one of the sites targeted by the US Department of Justice on "Black Friday", April 15th, 2011. Because of this action they have stopped servicing US customers, although they are still online for non-US players.
Want to sit down with Phil
Hellmuth and Annie Duke and play some poker? The only place you can is at UB.com! Now they've combined the players from Absolute
Poker and formed the Cereus network. The end result is over double the tables going 24 hours a day with
plenty of loose action especially at the Jackpot tables.
The Bad Beat Jackpot
Speaking of Bad Beat Jackpots, and Cereus and stuff like that... UB.com now offers bad beat jackpot tables, and the jackpots grow very fast. Also they award a share of the jackpot not just to the loser and winner of the hand and everyone else at that table but also to everyone who is playing at the same limit which means if you play often at $0.50-$1.00 Jackpot limit you are likely to get a "limit share" of the jackpot (I've already done that twice). That usually amounts to $100-$200 for each table you are playing at that limit so even without winning the actual jackpot (which, granted is a long shot!) you can realistically share it it when it comes. The first jackpot after the players of Absolute Poker and UB.com merged into the Cereus network was almost $800,000(!) and I would fully expect to see more large jackpots on the way.
Qualification for the jackpot is four 8's or better beaten and both players using both of their hole cards. The current Cereus bad beat jackpot is over ...
The Interface
UB.com has always had a nice interface and the Cereus network's poker client changes have left most of the good points of the interface intact and improved it in some areas.
Compare that to the other online cardrooms (who have a very nice interfaces of their own). Everything about the online play and the interface has been analyzed and tested by poker professionals. It's so good it makes your spine tingle a little bit. Well maybe that's just us.
The Players
Besides the great interface, UB.com offers something that no other Online Cardroom has, and that is the chance to sit down at a game (potentially any game they offer) and play with the likes of Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. That alone is worth the price of admission. LLHSAT has a list of UB.com poker celebrities.
Even when you aren't sitting with a pro at your table there is plenty of loose action at UB.com... Much more than the other two "top three" cardrooms which means with the right strategy it is a great place to make some serious money. Combine the players with a top-notch player loyalty program and if you're like me you'll be spending most of your time at UB.
The RAI$E Loyalty Program
Early 2008 UB.com introduced its brand new loyalty program called RAI$E designed to compete with the likes of PokerStars rewards program. I've been playing a very decent amount at UB.com this year personally and I can tell you that even at the micro limits of $0.50-$1.00 limit holdem it is quite easy to get to the next-to-last loyalty level (Legend) with this program. This means you have the ability to exchange up to $250 worth of points each month for cash (UB points are worth 7/10 of a cent each, but at the legend level you get 4 UB points per RAI$E point, so 2.8 cents per raked hand which adds up quite quickly). You also get a 10% discount at the UB.com Rewards store, freerolls, free gifts and other bonuses for staying at this easy-to-achieve level.
Although PokerStars loyalty program is still slightly better than RAI$E when you combine the juicier player base at UB.com it pushes it over the edge. Try it, you'll like it.
Sound Interesting?
It did to us, maybe it does to you too. Check out UB.com, you won't be sorry.
